This view of the building shows the very interesting aspect and the relationship between the facade and the trees, some located very close to the building. None of the existing tress have had to be cut down. The facade on one part has many of the frames embedded with tree logs, and they are mostly treated to protect against vermin attacks. The colour has show slight bleaching and this makes the facade even more curious as the clour migrates to creammy brown and beige.

The shelves divding the public area for circulation from the retail lots are made from metallic sheets painted a dark dull grey finish, and hand galvanised. The glass inserts provide the necessary functions, but they retain a transparent view into the shops from the public areas. The rnadom pattern create an interesting way to view the products from outside of the shops, and act as if they were works of art. This wall runs alng the entire depth of the retail centre, giving much arwa for display of merhcandise and goods from BOH.

A very close-up view of the building where the balcny overhangs the slope leading to the valley below. The balcony remains the most visited part of the entire building giving visitors a very good view of the place, and also the arrival point to the left and below.

Very nice view of the building from the lower approach road. Currently enjoying more than 3 million visitors a year, this building is set to bring up the entire estate of Sungei Palas and also the neighbouring village. Across the other side we see the existing blue and green huts for the estate workers.

This is one of our favourite views of the balcony section of the Boh Visitor Centre, we see here the view out to the amazing tea estate, the valley runs across many miles of undulating terrain, but also how precariously the building actually sits atop one of the hills of this vast landscape of tea plantation.

A 9m overhang for the balcony makes this a very light building, almost floating just above the slopes. Also the view from the balcony becomes much more uninterrupted. Notice also how the very large tree next to the structure has been left where it has always stood, in fact it is so close to the foundation that we’ve had to be very careful to use steelwork and concrete in the right places. The roof structure for safety, has had to be reinforced and braced effectively to account for the unlikely collapse of the tree, or any one of its branches in stormy weather
